Stan GilmaN

Stan has a diverse background compiling more than 40 years of high-level experience in finance, inventory management, operations, strategic business development and business planning serving manufacturers, distributors and retailers. During the past 25 years, he provided specialized services such as asset valuations, liquidation strategies and restructuring actions.

Stan most recently was a Managing Director at Gordon Brothers/Accuval the valuation division for Gordon Brothers Group a leading global advisory, operating and financial services company.

He was a co-founder and Vice Chairman of Hilco Appraisal Services, a leading international asset valuation firm and business unit of Hilco Global. As a practitioner, Stan conducted thousands of consumer and non-consumer inventory valuations such as apparel, footwear, grocery, pharmaceutical, jewelry and sporting goods. He has spent countless hours peer reviewing inventory valuations and mentoring senior-level appraisers and analysts.

Prior thereto, Stan held the Director of Systems and Controls position in the asset recovery business unit of Gordon Brothers Group. Stan also served as audit manager with an international accounting firm, and as controller and chief financial officer for various public and private retail chains, manufacturers and distributors.

Stan has an undergraduate degree with a major in accounting and finance from Bryant University, obtained his graduate certificate in special studies with an emphasis in finance from Harvard University and earned his MBA degree with a major in finance from Babson College. He has lectured to banks and published articles regarding inventory valuations including “The Mirror Image Appraisal” – a new paradigm emerges in the asset appraisal industry.

 

DAVID ORDON

David Ordon leads the asset management, valuation and disposition of all industrial and wholesale projects at Solid. He started his career in 1970 as a Junior Accountant at Deloitte and in 1974 joined Danbury Sales, Inc. where he gained his experience as an auctioneer, liquidator and appraiser. From 1999 to 2006 David, as President, entered into a partnership/joint venture with the Hilco Group in Chicago bring his diverse experience and grow Hilco’s industrial and appraisal business. David returned to Canada and Danbury Sales in 2007.   

In late 2014 David returned to the United States to join his former partners at Yellen Partners, LLC to help develop its industrial auction and machinery & equipment appraisal business.

David saw an opportunity in late 2016 to rejoin some of his former colleagues and today is Managing Director and Principal of Solid Assets Solutions, LLC. He brings with him more than 42 years of diversified experience and over 4,000 projects (View) of practical hands on auction, liquidation and appraisal experience.

David has a Bachelor’s Degree from York University in Economics. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Assoc., National Auctioneers Assoc, Commercial Finance Association, a Certified Appraiser and licensed auctioneer.

 

DAN KENNY

Dan oversees the valuation process of all consumer inventory appraisals. Dan comes to Solid Asset Solutions, LLC with more than 20 years’ experience in ABL inventory appraisals and asset recovery.  His broad experience has allowed him to manage appraisal engagements for commercial lenders, private investment groups and companies across a variety of industry sectors.  Prior to joining Solid Asset Solutions, LLC, Dan spent 7 years as Senior Vice President of Appraisals with SB Capital Group, a Schottenstein affiliate. Previous to SB Capital, Dan spent more than 7 years with Hilco Appraisal Services, LLC as a Senior Appraiser and Vice President of Retail Appraisals.  His career highlights include 6 years of consulting work for Hilco/Great American Asset Management in retail asset disposition and more than 20 years retail management in positions with Diamonds Department Stores, Mervyn’s Department Stores, Office Depot, and Sportstown, where he experienced store liquidation first hand.  Dan received an Associate’s Degree from AWC and studied Business Administration/Retail Studies at Arizona State University.

 

HAL KAPLAN

Hal specializes in Industrial Manufacturing and Wholesale Distribution valuations. With more than twenty years of industry experience, he has directed hundreds of commercial and industrial appraisals across a wide range of industries. Prior to joining Solid Asset Solutions Hal was Sr. Vice President of Appraisal Services for SB Capital Group, concentrating in industrial appraisals with a specialization in determining additional values through inventory build-outs. Additionally, Hal managed the daily operations as a Principal in an an automotive distribution company for seven years and has had extensive financial, production and inventory control experience for a global manufacturer. Hal earned an MBA in Accounting from Babson College and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Northeastern University

 

RICK ROSENBLOOM

Prior to joining Rick Rosenbloom was the founder and Managing Partner of Fuel Break Capital Partners, a national special situations investment and advisory firm and has been a restructuring professional for over twenty years. He started his career as a bankruptcy attorney at the law firms of Kirkland and Ellis and Schiff Hardin in Chicago, before becoming the General Counsel of the Hilco/Great American Group. He has broad restructuring experience in many industries, including consumer products, retail, manufacturing, Internet and Technology services as well as marketing services. Rick previously served as Chief Operating Officer of an international brand marketing and specialty advertising firm as well as President of the Corporate and Entertainment Licensing Division of a public brand and marketing services firm. For much of the past 10 years, Mr. Rosenbloom has focused much of his practice in advising clients on financial restructuring as well as sourcing and negotiating principal special situation investments and financings. Mr. Rosenbloom holds JD and MBA degrees from UCLA, and received a BA degree With Distinction from the Honors Program at the University of Michigan. He is active in the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI). He is licensed to practice law in California and the U.S. Tax Court.
