NORM WEIZER

President/Director of Operations

As President/Director of Operations Norm manages all retail projects. Before Solid Asset Solutions LLC, Norm served as Vice President of Operations and Merchandise for one of the most active and successful asset disposition firms in North America and Europe. In this role, Norm specialized in corporate operations, important due diligence examinations, and bank appraisals both in the US and Europe.

His perspective is widely recognized as one of the best in the field of retail merchandise valuation in North America, and he is a proven leader of asset management and disposition. Norm’s experience includes COO of BA Framer, a retail art and framing chain, EVP of Linen Supermarket, VP of The Gap, VP Operations of Family Dollar stores and an executive of JC Penney Co. Additionally, he owned and operated a chain of children’s retail stores. Norm holds a BS degree from the University of Montana.

 

DAVID ORDON

David Ordon leads the asset management, valuation and disposition of all industrial and wholesale projects at Solid. He started his career in 1970 as a Junior Accountant at Deloitte and in 1974 joined Danbury Sales, Inc. where he gained his experience as an auctioneer, liquidator and appraiser. From 1999 to 2006 David, as President, entered into a partnership/joint venture with the Hilco Group in Chicago bring his diverse experience and grow Hilco’s industrial and appraisal business. David returned to Canada and Danbury Sales in 2007.

In late 2014 David did a Joint Venture with his former partners at Yellen Partners, LLC to help develop its industrial auction and machinery & equipment appraisal business.

David saw an opportunity in late 2016 to rejoin some of his former colleagues and today is Managing Director and Principal of Solid Assets Solutions, LTD the Canadian division of Solid Assets Solutions LLC. He brings with him more than 42 years of diversified experience and over 4,000 projects (View) of practical hands on auction, liquidation and appraisal experience.

David has a bachelor’s degree from York University in Economics. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Assoc., National Auctioneers Assoc, Commercial Finance Association, a Certified Appraiser and licensed auctioneer.

 

STANLEY GILMAN

Stanley Gilman has a diverse background compiling more than 40 years of high-level experience in finance, inventory management, operations, strategic business development and business planning serving manufacturers, distributors, and retailers. During the past 25 years, he provided specialized services such as asset valuations, liquidation strategies and restructuring actions.

Stan most recently was a Managing Director at Gordon Brothers/Accuval the valuation division for Gordon Brothers Group a leading global advisory, operating and financial services company.

He was a co-founder and Vice Chairman of Hilco Appraisal Services, a leading international asset valuation firm and business unit of Hilco Global. As a practitioner, Stan conducted thousands of consumer and non-consumer inventory valuations such as apparel, footwear, grocery, pharmaceutical, jewelry and sporting goods. He has spent countless hours peer reviewing inventory valuations and mentoring senior-level appraisers and analysts.

Prior thereto, Stan held the Director of Systems and Controls position in the asset recovery business unit of Gordon Brothers Group. Stan also served as audit manager with an international accounting firm, and as controller and chief financial officer for various public and private retail chains, manufacturers, and distributors.

Stan has an undergraduate degree with a major in accounting and finance from Bryant University, obtained his graduate certificate in special studies with an emphasis in finance from Harvard University and earned his MBA degree with a major in finance from Babson College. He has lectured to banks and published articles regarding inventory valuations including “The Mirror Image Appraisal” – a new paradigm emerges in the asset appraisal industry.

 

Patrick King

Vice President of Operations 

As Site Supervisor at Solid Asset Solutions, Patrick (Pat) King supervises, evaluates, organizes and prepares assets for sale via live and/or online auctions. His duties also include the upload of data and images and upkeep of the online auction site. Overseeing, inspection and managing buyer needs during the auction process is an integral part of his duties and supervising the removal of assets and other services necessary for the implementation and conclusion of an auction.

Before joining Solid Asset Solutions, Pat worked at American Hospital Supply, as an electronics technician for 20+ years. After his departure from American Hospital Supply, he entered the insurance industry for 5 years and then Danbury Industrial where he learned  the auction/liquidation business.

A voracious reader he is also a world class musician for Irish dance and volunteers his time and talents to any worthy cause.

 

Moss M. Sidell

Moss brings over 30 years’ experience as a consultant to Solid Asset Solutions’ real estate practice. During that time, Moss has assisted numerous companies in restructuring their commercial leases and the disposition of excess real estate. Moss has worked in all aspects of the real estate business including development, property management, brokerage and construction. Prior to joining Solid Asset Solutions, Moss held various positions as in-house counsel in corporate retail environments, in real estate development companies, as well as a partner in larger law firms. For many years, Moss has also maintained a private law practice, representing a number of individuals, retailers, lenders and corporations in the areas of real estate. He has concentrated his practice in real estate law, helping clients by negotiating leases, structuring complex transactions, advising on complex lending structures, drafting contracts, advising on acquisitions, and obtaining site plan approvals and other permits. Moss has served as a Divisional and State volunteer Officer of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts, Florida and Rhode Island, and is a member of the bar of the United States District Court of Massachusetts, United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He has a JD from Suffolk University and a BS from Boston College.

Michael sources business opportunities and manages retail client relationships  to ensure successful asset disposition. In addition, he sources, builds and maintains vendor relationships to expedite asset disposition for clients. Michael joined Solid Asset in 2018 with extensive retail experience. Prior to joining Solid Asset Solutions, Michael served in a variety of capacities including, Director of Stores, Regional Manager and District Manager.

Michael’s experience includes roles with CVS Health, The Disney Store, Charming Shoppes (Fashion Bug Stores) and The Gap (Banana Republic) and other Specialty retail chains . Michael is a results oriented  professional with a proven track record of top performance in each role he has undertaken.  He has a BS Degree in Business Management from Northeastern University

Theresa manages accounting and financial reporting on retail projects. Theresa joined Solid Asset Solutions in 2018 with over 30 years of retail experience in Department  Store and Specialty retail serving in a variety of capacities, including Regional Manager, District Manager, Store Manager, and HR Manager.  She  manages financial reporting, accounting and payroll for Solid Asset Solutions and works closely with Solid Asset Solution’s clients for all reporting.

She is a proven leader with a strong track record of success as an executive with Fitzpatrick Companies, (Country Curtains), May Company, Federated Department Stores as well as a variety of Specialty retail chains

Theresa has both a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts from Western Michigan University.
